New mileage rate as of July 1, 2026

We've all felt the pinch of higher gas prices. The IRS made a mid-year adjustment to the standard mileage rate — unusual timing, worth flagging. Effective July 1, the rate is $0.76/mile, up from $0.725. If you track vehicle mileage for business use, make sure your log reflects the new rate starting July 1, 2026.
